Eli Swirsky

President

 

Eli formed the Torgan Group in the 70's together with his father, the late Mr. Zwi Swirsky, who contributed his 50 years of experience in land development and construction in Israel to the new Canadian company. Before commencing his real estate career, Eli attended York University where he enrolled in an Honors program for BA in Computer Science

Sam Cohen

Treasurer Secratary

Sam joined Eli in the early 80's. Prior to joining Torgan, Sam was the founder and partner of two factories; one in Israel and one in Canada that built machines for the food manufacturing industry. The Canadian factory, based on superior technology developed by Sam, became the largest of its kind in North America. Sam holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technion in Haifa, Israel.

Oz Cohen

Chief Financial Officer

Oz joined the Torgan Group in November 2001. Prior to joining Torgan, from 1996-2001 Oz served in various capacities including General Counsel, Vice-President of Business Development and Acting Chief Financial Officer of Fundetech (NASDAQ:FNDT), a publicly traded Israel hi-tech company. Oz holds a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto (psychology), a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto and an MBA from Oxford University. He is licensed to practice law in New York, Massachusetts, Ontario and Israel.

Aaron Goldenberg

Leasing Manager

Aaron joined the Torgan Group 2002. Prior to joining Torgan, Aaron was founder and CEO of NETgo, an Israeli based high-tech company specializing in multimedia solutions. Aaron's responsibilities include heading the leasing department and tenant relations.

Shoukut Hossain

Controller

Shoukut joined the Torgan Group in May 2005. His responsibilities include monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, G/L analysis, Inter-companies, cash flow, pro-forma, taxation, budgeting, forecasting, project cost monitoring, due diligence and various financial matters working closely with CEO, CFO, CTO, Treasurer, and Property Managers. Prior to joining the Torgan Group, Shoukut worked eight years at small and mid-sized Chartered Accounting firms in Montreal and Toronto in various positions and also three years in manufacture accounting and finance departments. Shoukut holds RPA (Registered Proffesional Accountant) and CMA (Certified Management Accounting) (Aust.) designation as well as an outstanding graduate award by Dalton McGuinty, Premier, and Government of Ontario. Shoukut is also a professional member of SPAC, Canada and ICMA, Australia.

Doron Goldenberg

Development Manager

Doron joined the Torgan Group in 2005. Doron's responsibilities include managing and executing new developments as well as upgrades to existing buildings. Doron brings twenty years of experience and has specialized in construction projects not only in Canada but also in the USA, Israel and Europe. He brings knowledge in building, development and construction. Prior to being with Torgan, Doron managed a major construction company for many years. He has an Engineering degree as well as a Masters degree in Business and Marketing.

Kurt Gummer

Senior Property Manager

Kurt joined the Torgan Group in 2005. Kurt's role as a Senior Property Manager ranges from operations, tenant services, leasing and accounting. Kurt's portfolio consits of twelve properties of mixed commercial and medical buildings which he manages. Prior to joining Torgan Kurt worked for Brookfield Properties where he filled a variety of roles. Kurt has a BES from Seneca College and is enrolled in the RPA program through BOMA.

Adrian Florea

Senior Property Manager

Adrian joined the Torgan Group in 2005. His porfolio consists of thirteen properties of mixed commercial and medical buildings which he manages. Prior to joining Torgan, Adrian filled a position as a District Manager for one of the largest residential landlord's in Canada (Cap Reit) overseeing residential portfolios in Toronto and for a short term period in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Adrian holds a Diploma for completing a Construction Finishing program in Romania.

Danny Boglis

Property Manager

Danny joined the Torgan Group in 2006. He began with Torgan in Operations and is now filling the role of Property Manager. Danny contributes years of background in the building and construction industry. Prior to joining Torgan, he privately ran his own construction business. Danny holds a diploma in Business Management from Seneca College.

Tim Li

Lease Administrator

Tim joined the Torgan Group in 1994. His responsibilities include the daily administration and liaison with tenants', preparation of lease agreements and budgeting. Prior to joining Torgan, Tim was the manager for a property management company that managed approx. 1000 residential tenants. Tim came to Canada from Hong Kong, where he was the Sales Manager of The Excelsior Hotel, the Mandarin Group. Tim has a BA in Communication from the University of Windsor.

Paul Brown

In-House Accountant

Paul joined the Torgan Group spring of 1995. His responsibilities include the preparation of working papers, projected cash flows and financial statements for various Torgan Properties as well as year-end adjustments for tenants. Prior to joining Torgan, Paul worked six years at a medium sized firm of Chartered Accountants in Markham, ON. In the mid-Seventies, Paul studied music at the University of Toronto, earning a Masters in Music Composition. Paul has appeared as a solo artist on CBC Television and CFTO TV.

Rita Perrone

Office Manager

Rita joined the Torgan Group in 1989. Her responsibilities include the daily dealings with banks, purchasing, taxation and overall management of the office (e.g. payroll, allocation of duties, well being of staff). Prior to joining Torgan, Rita was the Office Manager for a chemical company, taking care of the finance and imports from the USA as well as the payroll of the company. Rita came to Canada from South Africa where she was the Import Manager for an electronic company supplier to the Government. There, she was involved with the foreign dealings of the company, from banks to customs to suppliers. Rita studied Architecture and Medicine at the University of Rome.
